Celebration: Texas Iconic Festivals
The exhibition explores Texas’ iconic festivals, examining what we choose to celebrate and how those traditions reflect our history and identity as both Texans and Americans.
Currently, the Dallas Harambee Festival prepares to mark its 52nd year on October 31, 2026. It holds the distinct honor of being featured among 27 other statewide festivals on display at the prestigious Bullock Museum in Austin, Texas. The exhibition is open from April 25 through September 27, 2026.
The showcase highlights 27 festivals that celebrate:
-
Industry & Agriculture: The foundations of the Texas economy.
-
Nature: The state's diverse natural resources.
-
Heritage: The cultural roots and collective identity of its people.
An eclectic mix of artifacts unique to each festival explores the stories behind these essential community-building events.
